Dolder Hotel AG offers ambitious talents with a completed hotel management degree a tailor-made trainee program in the following areas:

Start. Contribute. Lead.
The trainee program provides initial leadership experience, insight into operational processes and targeted development for a career in management.

Conditions
The program lasts at least twelve months and can be extended to up to 18 months. The prerequisite is a degree from a hotel management school or comparable education, completed not longer than 18 months ago, or you are in the final year of study. Very good German and English skills are required.

FAQ – QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR TRAINING

Most of our positions are available on an ongoing basis. Recruitment for apprenticeships begins at the earliest one year in advance, starting in August (process duration: 6 to 12 weeks). Traineeships and internships usually start at the beginning of a semester – here too, early application is worthwhile, ideally 4 to 6 months in advance.

  • Apprenticeships: for school leavers with compulsory education
  • Internships: for students at hotel management schools, universities of applied sciences or universities recognized by the L-GAV. Check here whether your school is recognized.
  • Management traineeships: for university graduates with a completed degree; provided the degree is from a hotel management school recognized by the L-GAV. Check here whether your school is recognized.
  • Apprenticeships: Our apprentices receive an individual schedule at the beginning. Depending on their training focus, they change departments every 3 to 6 months in order to get to know as many areas as possible and receive practice-oriented training.
  • Internships: Interns work in one fixed department for six months. After the first three months, there is the option to do cross-training in another department.
    Currently we offer internships in:
    • Kitchen: Banquet, Saltz à la carte, Saltz Breakfast or Pastry
    • Service: Restaurant Saltz, Event Operations or Room Service
    • Analysis
  • Management traineeship F&B: As part of the Food & Beverage management trainee program, all service areas are covered. Depending on experience and individual strengths, trainees gradually take on leadership responsibilities.

Our EFZ apprenticeships last three years and start in August each year.
Internships last six months, extensions are possible upon agreement with the school.
The management trainee program lasts twelve months and can be extended to a maximum of 18 months.

Yes. For new team members, in-house rooms are available depending on availability. We also offer furnished studios in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. These are reserved exclusively for employees who have moved from abroad. Such a studio can only be moved into after successfully completing the probationary period. Please note: we do not provide accommodation for apprentices, as they are usually minors.

Yes, we are happy to offer motivated young professionals long-term prospects. Many of our former apprentices and interns work permanently at the Dolder Grand today or return after gaining further experience in the industry.

We only offer compulsory internships that are part of a school or academic training program. The minimum duration is six months.

After receiving your application, we carefully review your documents. Depending on the program, a personal interview or a trial day will follow. For apprenticeships, a trial apprenticeship of 2 to 5 days is mandatory.

Yes, we also welcome applications from abroad. Please note, however, that we can only provide limited support with visa or permit procedures. An application therefore requires either a valid residence permit or the legal prerequisites for one in Switzerland.
